June 29th. Oh Mia.

Took a photo of my sister and my father inside today with my holga again. Can't get enough of that funny camera.

June 28th. Bulb Mode.

Tested the bulb mode out on my holga today and tried some weird photo with me in a mirror. It'll come out weird and blurry I'm sure.

June 27th. Bank of America!

I worked on this Bank of America industrial today and we shot all around the city. Took a few action samples of the trans-america building, then a few inside the asian art museum. It was pretty fun.

June 26th. Saw Mill.

This is actually much better than I thought it would be. I got super lucky and shot it just as this lady was riding past in her little cart...Pretty humorous.

June 25th. Adventures.

I went on a little adventure with my new friend Lani. This is actually her holding a ladybug, I actually really like the light leak at the top that says "KODAK"...Pretty cool.

June 24th. Out and About.

Here's one of Tim and my Mom and then part of my sisters room. It says something about life...you know?

By the way, I couldn't figure out if I was supposed to be on 16 pictures per roll, or 12 pictures per roll, so I switched throughout and got all these overlapping pictures. They're pretty cool though, I like em.

June 23. Holga!

I'm sort of disappointed with my holga. A lot of my pictures came out sharp and without light leaks...:/
Super excited. Just bought it today. I took one photo inside my car that will most likely come out terrible, but look awesome. Still need to finish the roll.

June 22nd. ShadowS!

I think this is the picture...shadows!

June 21st. Dongyi.

I apologize in advance.

June 20th. Action Sample!

The only way I could get it on my computer right now is to take a picture of it. So I did.

I just bought an action sampler. It's basically a 35mm camera that has 4 lenses and shoots a 4 frame sequence on one frame of 35mm film over 1 second. It's got light leaks, fixed aperture and shutter speed, and the focus is fixed at infinite. Needless to say, it's awesome.

I'll try and scan them sometime soon. So you can see them in all their glory.

June 19th. Wooden Spoons.

I've started changing how I import my RAW files from my D100 and I'm quite liking it.

Today was my Mother's boyfriends birthday today. We had a delicious dinner and everything. It's all about the orange wall and the orange rice on the spoon and in the pot though. Super sweet!

June 18th. Dirty Mirrors.

It's true. In my room they are quite dirty. My sister also makes funny faces.

I realize taking pictures of yourself taking pictures is slightly...distasteful. But we all gotta do it sometimes.

June 17th. The Dutch Have Troubles.

After attempting to take a picture for every single day, you start to get into this constant mode of "looking" for photos. Sometimes you just shoot and things happen to turn out alright, other times they're more planned out, but the worst of times are when everything you look at is just terrible. It's like I can only take so many pictures inside my house, alright!?

I'm not saying this picture is great, but it's something I totally didn't see until I started taking pictures of my TV. The other photos are just like giant flares, so I stopped down a little bit and was like, oh look a remote control. Plopped it in there, moved it in a few different positions. Click click. Hey, look! Photos! I think that's also what I love about digital. I would have never found this with film, as I'm always so conservative when I'm shooting it. Having to think about the monetary aspects of what you're doing is never a good thing, which is why life is good these days. Film is just too silly sometimes.

Yeah. Sometimes I guess, the pictures, they just find you.

June 16th. Diptych?

Is that what they call these things? I've wanted to do one for a while.

You should probably click on it, it's mighty small right now.

June 15th. Death Cookies.

I cut my finger trying to scrape these things off the cookie sheets. They're deadly.

Unfortunately I left this camera at my dads house. Not being very good with this.

June 14th. Grand Pianos.

Square crop today. This guys was the stunt coordinator on the shoot I was on and I guess he knew a little piano. Another friend of mine played one bach song and then we continued to call him Mozart for the rest of the day.

June 13th. BBQ Salad.

I wanted to put BBQ sauce on my chicken salad. My mom didn't stop me.

<3

June 12th. Woops.

June 11th I was going to take a picture of a clock that said 11:59, it was 11:45 so I decided I could watch a little bit more TV before I got things ready. Sadly, before the clock struck my desired time, I was already asleep.

This means no picture for July 11th. How sad. I could have just lied and put up another picture that I had taken on previous days, but then this whole thing would have been so unsatisfying. With that said, I'm starting over. Now I know to always take some sort of safety picture if I'm going to wait. Something is better than nothing.

I found a book that showed me how to make an album cover into an ipod case yesterday and figured I'd give it a shot. I think it's turning out pretty cool, although this was actually just a test cover, since I knew I was going to screw it up a bit.

See ya.

June 10th. Scales and Calculators.

I spent the day at my dad's today, which is something I don't do too often. One of the many things that I love about being here though is all of the nice places to work with plenty of office supplies at your disposal. For some reason, that just makes everything all that much easier.

Anyways, I still can't seem to give up the verticals. I don't know what it is about them, but I feel like they're very mechanical in a way. Maybe it's because I shoot so much motion and I'm always confined to this horizontal frame that whenever I get a chance to break out of that, I'm there.

I'm thinking about doing polaroids for a little while. First I'll have to find a polaroid camera though....I'll also be getting all of my photos back on friday. Fun fun.

June 9th. Ceiling Couples.

Apparently all you need to do sometimes to find your photo is look up.

June 8th. New Dishes!

At my mother's house we've always had a mismatch collection of plates and dishes, sometimes only having 2 or 3 plates on hand at one time. We just got an entirely new set of fiesta-ware type dishes. Needless to say, I'm excited.

I can't get the saturation right on this...It's too much now, but I'd rather it be too much than too little. The colors are important, you know?

June 7th. Spracky.

Went skateboarding today with my friend Andrew, or Spracky as some call him. I basically met him online before I met him in person. Slightly weird.

He knows how to handle his camera. I like him.

June 6th. Computers.

At the end of my life, I will have most likely have spent years in this chair.

That's a terrible thought.

June 5th. Prickly Pears.

Photobucket

So I lied slightly. They aren't pears. Just a cactus.

I'm not quite sure why I didn't think of taking pictures of my cacti before, as I'm beginning to amass quite the collection. It first began when a friend of mine, Rachel Simkover, took me to the ashby flea market to buy a cactus of my own. She already had one and had named it, so apparently it was the cool thing to do.

I don't believe this was the first I've bought, and sadly enough, I don't even know the little guys name. What I do know though is that I think I got him from my birthday. He's from longs and really enjoys it in my window. Lots of sun, you know?

That's my installment for today. Until tommorrow.

P.S. Are you noticing a trend? Apparently I am a big fan of verticals. Strange.

June 4th. A New Place to Call Home.

Photobucket

We just moved into our new place a little while ago and for once I actually have my own room. Of course I like it, but I think there was something strangely special about being forced to constantly be with my family. That being said, we actually now have a dinner table we can all sit at and use, whether or not that happens is a different story, but it's the principle of the thing...right?

Have a nice day. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow and I just got a new pocket digital camera. I think I may start taking all my pictures on that...I'm trying my best to embrace digitals shortcomings.

June 3rd. Ross.

Photobucket

I really hate Ross. If I had a list of the top 10 things I hate, on it would be ross, followed by home depot, followed by a few other things.

Everything is so disorganized, but for some reason people try and make sense of it. I don't think I'll ever know why. I ended up falling asleep in a nearby chair while my family went and rummaged through all the clothes. It turned out to be a nice nap.

June 2nd. Benches.

I ride my bike by this place everyday. I think it's UCSF and their campus. I really like how the benches go on forever, but I've never really worked up the nerve to take a photo. Until now of course...

June 1st. Computers

Riding on BART is always such a lonely experience. I don't know what it is exactly, but the fact that everyone goes out of their way to sit as far away from you as possible might have something to do with it.

I do enjoy the ride to Pleasant Hill though, there's something about it that's...nice.

May 31st. Naan N' Curry

Worked on this Bollywood film today and I couldn't help but laugh to find out that we were shooting at Naan N' Curry. Great location.
